Lisa Awarded G.D. Crain Jr. Memorial Award for Public Service

While at the American Advertising Federation’s 2010 National Conference this past June in Orlando, Lisa represented the Greater Frederick Advertising Federation (GFAF) accepting the G.D. Crain Jr. Memorial Award for Public Service after placing first in the AAF’s National Club Achievement Competition. The G.D. Crain Jr. Memorial Award for Public Service was designed to encourage high professional standards for public service advertising by AAF member clubs and a grant is provided for each first-place winner in each of the five AAF club divisions. With that in mind the judges looked for projects that effectively used advertising techniques to support local, regional and/or national programs on behalf of public interests and/or community betterment. Competing against AAF club’s across the United States, Lisa lead her Public Service Committee and the GFAF to first place, with the judges having this to say about the work:

"Outstanding service, creativity and execution. Nicely done on all areas of the campaigns."

"Beautifully done submission. A true testament to the creativity of volunteerism to effect change. Bravo!"

Serving as the GFAF’s Public Service Director, Lisa proudly accepted this prestigious award on behalf of the GFAF, the board, its members and most notably, the non-profits that Lisa and her Public Service Committee served this past year. These organizations included: Tails of Hope Sanctuary, Mission of Mercy, Hope Alive, Team Hope for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and the year-long campaign, AnySoldier.com Care Packages. For Lisa’s tireless efforts throughout the 2009/10 year, the awarded grant money will be put towards GFAF’s 2010/11 public service efforts.
